Before searching Blue Book, start with the finding aid
An archival guide can be more useful than a viral excerpt. Here is a practical starting point.
NARA maintains a research guide for Project Blue Book and a separate list of UAP bulk downloads. Those two resources serve different purposes: one helps explain the records, while the other provides access to downloadable collections.
Start with the guide, choose a relevant series, and keep its catalog identifier with your notes. When sharing an individual document, include its source link and enough context for another reader to find it. A large download is a collection of material, not a count of independent incidents.
Our Blue Book collection brings together the archive’s index, report, and moving-image catalog entries as a starting point. It is a selection, not a claim to reproduce every Blue Book record.
